Let's Be Social
My name is Marcia Gagliardi, and you can call me MG for short.
Thanks for swinging by. I'm a San Francisco–based writer and culinary personality, known by many as “the tablehopper.” I launched tablehopper (my weekly e-column about the San Francisco dining and drinking scene) in 2006, and quickly gained status as a trusted source for all the latest local restaurant and bar news and reviews, plus tips on culinary and wine events, international travel guides, and more. My column is avidly read by a loyal following of both consumers and the restaurant/F&B industry. No "eating for the Insta" on tablehopper, I only write and post about what's fricking delicious.
My first book was released in spring 2010, The Tablehopper’s Guide to Dining and Drinking in San Francisco: Find the Right Spot for Every Occasion by Ten Speed Press. I also created a late-night dining app, and as a freelance food writer, have written for countless publications and guidebooks, including the Louis Vuitton City Guide 2017: San Francisco and 2013, Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, LA Times Magazine, and Entrepreneur. You can take a look at some of my past writing clips on my freelance writing page on tablehopper (feel free to subscribe while you're over there!). I've also had numerous television and radio appearances—(you can watch some clips here), emceed events, and moderated countless panels.
My love and knack for hosting people has led me to conceiving creative and memorable events with many top-tier clients, including Louis Roederer Champagne, Campari America, and Rémy Cointreau. And now, with mymilligram, I'll be hosting a variety of events with cannabis education and discovery while weaving in quality food and beverage experiences.
In April 2018, I launched mymilligram, a weekly newsletter and website featuring low-dose and high-quality cannabis products made in California. mymilligram will also include cannabis event announcements and education.
I'm taking everything I've learned the past 15 years about how I assess food and drink and applying that to cannabis. Let me guide you to some beautiful products that may help with sleep, or anxiety, or aches, or inflammation, or just help you unwind, make dinner taste really good, and have you laugh harder at your Netflix show too. Life can be hard, for many reasons, so if I can help you tap into a bit more ease and happiness in your life, then great. I’m on my own journey and would love your company!
I’m a microdoser in a heavy-hitter world, and through carefully managing my intake through well-made, low-dose, measurable products, I've found a great deal of happiness, ease, wellness, creativity, connection, spiritual insight, and plenty of giggles too. I’ve been on such a deep dive of education and exploration, and realized I have too much excitement and information to contain it all, so here we are. (You can read more about my own cannabis journey in the first mymilligram letter here.)
I know a lot of canna-curious folks are out there, wondering how to navigate this new world, and how it may help with something you're dealing with. Some may be returning to cannabis after a looong break (you know, like from the ’60s), and some have never tried it at all. Some folks have only had terrifying and paranoid experiences (I'm so sorry about that), and I’m here to say, it doesn’t have to be like that. As someone who is prone to overthinking, you can find a sweet spot of feeling good but not necessarily psychoactivated—or maybe just a little bit (and being okay with that). Feeling in control. Going low and slow. Please take a look at my guide, Advice for Trying THC for the First Time (even if it isn't your first time).
And be sure to check out the mymilligram curated boxes, especially if you're just getting started and wondering which products to try. Tremendous thanks to Sava, my fabulous delivery and fulfillment partner here in Northern California.
Did you subscribe to the weekly newsletter? Thanks for telling your friends. You can even tell mom, because moms are an important part of my product reviewing parameters—I won’t be writing about anything that I wouldn’t give to my own mother. (Don't get mom intoxicated!)
Thanks for joining me! I look forward to getting to know you more.
